The monthly Sarasota Woodturners club meeting will be held on August 4th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This is an in-person meeting and is on Zoom for people who are not able to attend the meeting in-person.
The meeting starts with club announcements followed by a show and tell. The show and tell is your opportunity to show and talk about your finished and in progress pieces.
Everyone is welcome to come at 6:00 pm to talk about topics of interest, renew acquaintances or make new ones.
Visitors are welcome to attend the meeting to see what our club is all about. Be sure to introduce yourself to any of our club officers and we'll be glad to answer all your questions.

Carl Jacobson will be demonstrating the use of the Nile-Joyner Off-Center Jig on different turnings.
The Niles Joyner Off-Center Jig (originally designed by Richard Joyner and distributed exclusively by Niles Bottle Stoppers) is a multi-axis woodturning accessory designed for turning eccentric, off-center patterns and shapes on the lathe.
It is commonly used to turn pendants, earrings, box lids, bottle stoppers, cabinet knobs, and decorative inlays.
1. Key Components of the Jig
Offset Plate: Features a spiral pattern of 12 offset holes that allow you to shift the center of rotation further away from the main axis.
Indexing Plate: Provides 24 indexed positions (degrees of rotation) around the center axis for creating repeatable geometric patterns.
The jig comes with our choice of mandrel. 1 1/4" x 8, 1" x 8, or #2MT Morse
Mounting Buttons: Small threaded discs used with heavy-duty double-sided tape for quick, secure mounting of thin wood or acrylic blanks.
