HISTORY Our current Director at Large and Norwegian born woodturner, Franck Johannesen, founded the Sarasota chapter of the American Association of Woodturners in 2001. The first organization meeting was held in his living room with Dave Levin as President, Franck as Vice-President, Merle Greenwald as Treasurer and Bob Lewis as Secretary. The club now counts approximately 90 members. |

| MISSION The mission of the Sarasota Woodturners is to provide education and information to its members and potential members, from beginners to advanced turners, to assist them in becoming more proficient turners, to operate their workshops in the safest way possible, and to encourage participation in the wider turning community through membership in the American Association of Woodturners. |
